Hot off the machine: 4 extra-roomy makeup bags. Can I get away with calling them cosmetic cozies? All are made out of the embroidered denim fabric I have been dying to use. Zippers to me are like a knock-out pair of shoes: you want to get them noticed not blend into the scenery. So, of course, nothing but vivid colors would do for these bags. They also have a tab on either side of the zip, making it a cinch to open and close.
Inside I put a cotton print. I was sure to seal in all the seams- I personally hate looking at frayed edges or flaps of fabric. To me it's the little finishing touches that make it just right. It took a few solid hours of hand sewing, but don't think it was drudgery. I also managed to sigh my way through 3 chick-flicks and massive amounts of hot tea at the same time. "Me time" just doesn't get better than that!
I love the two handle look. The flush one can be used to attach to luggage (just slide over your pull-up handle or through the attached straps), the loop can be worn around your wrist, and both can be used to hang on coat hooks.
