  11. I am thankful for each passing day and the humbling possibilities they bring. I am thankful for still being alive after all that I have been through knowing that I will one day effect a positive change upon the world. I am also thankful for my ability to articulate these feelings. I am not only thankful around the holidays, but every day. I am thankful for my son most of all. It is because of him (and God) that I carry on.

  15. I'm thankful to be married to my best friend; the same silly blond who won my heart when we were seven and nine. I'm thankful to be living under an 1890s roof in Portland, Oregon; our little second story duplex unit complete with two-footed claw foot tub and charming old gas stove. I'm thankful for Willamette Valley soil and the family and food it has raised for the past eight generations of my family tree; for rich love and wild imaginations; for a passport and a savings account; for hearts that know mine.

    Cheers. ~B
