Limited packaging.

Whenever I send packages, I tend to use boxes and not bags. I like boxes- they remind me of presents and presents are good. I take the time to make something I am proud of, so I am darn well going to take the time to package it decently. Isn't what I send, in fact, a piece of me? And that is certainly something deserving of more than a good shoving into the bottom of an ugly yellow envelope. But unfortunately with international transit, you have to side with "destruction proof" over "cute with dangle-y sparkly bits." It's so unfair.

Which is why I love TNT's boxes (TNT = the Dutch Mail). They are very retro-mod and extra polka dotty. There is the fact that I get a secret thrill using the word "TNT". But let's face it- I'm from the Golden State where we have a rather lengthy heritage of blowing up mountains. It's in my blood. But secret destructive desires aside, the dots actually say stuff. See the orange ones forming letters?

There are rather normal mailing expressions like:

Confidential, Handle With Care, Caution, Fragile, Special Delivery

But then there are the "not so expected" phrases like:

Surprise for You, Handle like Eggs, Top Secret

and my favorite which is located on the side:

Life is a Box of Chocolates.

TNT rocks. They have an explosive name, fab retro-moddy-dotty boxes, and I am thrilled with the knowledge that my precious package is being sent with explicit directions to handle like eggs.
