Let me introduce you to....

.... my kitchen. I figure since I spend a lot of time here, it may be worth you getting a sneak peek at my world. As you can see it looks quite unassuming and plain. But once everything is opened you see the true mess and mayhem.

I must admit it is different cooking in a European style kitchen. The emphasis is on different types of preparation and cooking methods. For instance, my oven is way too small to cook a whole chicken let alone Thanksgiving turkey, yet I have a 5 burner stove. Plus a wok attachment. My sink is deep but, of course, no garbage disposal.

What you don't see is my pantry (read this as large cupboard but I like to pretend it's a huge pantry none-the-less). And my island. You can't see the island because it isn't installed yet. In the future it will sit large, huge, and obtrusive right in the middle of the floor. It will house a beautiful granite slab- all one piece- for the top and a jumbo American sized oven.

Large enough to cook a turkey.

  1. Your fridge is so beautiful. My college dorm room had a bigger fridge than we do in Amsterdam.

  2. OMG, I hate you - I want counter space & that many cabinets! I have to take a photo of our kitchen to show you. We had to register for a pot rack if that's any indication.
